Birmingham Household Support Fund

Year-round

Household Support Fund

Low-income households (most in receipt of a means-tested benefit or Council Tax Reduction) who are struggling with essential bills. Applications are prioritised for families with children and households with a disabled member. Non-means-tested eligibility is possible through the Local Welfare Provision route.

Awards: Awards typically £100–£500; food and fuel vouchers also issued.

The fund operates alongside Birmingham’s Local Welfare Provision scheme, which covers a wider set of emergencies (furniture, fleeing domestic abuse, crisis food).
